The Company was established in 1923 by Chev. Antonio Theuma as a
sole proprietorship mostly concentrating its activities as a general
government contractor and importer of Japanese textile fents, foodstuffs,
wines and spirits, paints and chemicals, raw and worked marble.
Chev. Theuma was also a ship owner and operated a shipping service
between Malta and Italy.
On the death of Chev. Theuma, the Company was reconstructed in 1962
as a partnership en nom collectif between Mrs. Emilia Theuma, widow
of Chev. Theuma, and Mr. Alfred Zahra, her nephew. During the sixties
and seventies, the Company acted as importer of raw and worked marble,
hardware and textiles
The Company was again reconstituted in 1980 on the retirement from
active business of Mrs. Theuma.
The Zahra family took over hundred percent of the companys
shareholding in a newly set up private limited liability company.
The Company is owned and managed by Messrs. Zahra.
